Kat is very passionate about journalism, however, she isn't taken entirely seriously in the matter due to the fact that she is a woman. She often finds herself struggling to find newspapers and magazines that will publish her work, no matter how good it really is. Through all the rejection she's faced, she feels ready to find a more serious place in the world of writers and is currently trying to find a newspaper that will hire her full-time.

General Description/Facial Features: Plain Jane by day, but drop dead gorgeous at night can best describe Kat's appearance. Contrary to having grown up with a mother who was all about aesthetic beauty, she does not think very much of the way she looks. When working or in a situation where she does not have to impress anyone, Kat can easily blend into the crowd and be entirely washed out. However, with the right amount of makeup and colors that suit her, she is quite a stunning young woman who has known to catch the eyes of many. The contrast between her "day and night" looks is so startling that many people often mistake her for another person all together. Her overall appearance is that of a heart-shaped face with a small, pink mouth and a curiously analytic gaze. She is a strikingly classic beauty, over-all, but rarely lets people see that from her.

Height & Body Type: 5' 6'', a little taller than average height. Kat is a very good representation of the long, slender body-type that the 20's are known for. While she does have some curves to her, she normally does not play up on them and prefers the more modern look of sleekness.

Talents & Skills: Ever since she was very little, Kat has had a knack for story telling. This has carried over into her writing. Even in her most technical pieces, there is something very charming about her writing that has been known to hook her readers and keep them wanting more from her. While she tends to write more journalistic, non-fiction pieces, she will come up with the occasional short-story or idea for a novel. Most of these projects remain unfinished in notebooks that she keeps in boxes under her bed to return to when she so desires. She very rarely enjoys writing for herself and always aspires to show the world what she's created on the page.

If one can count it as a talent, Kat also has an impeccable memory. There isn't much about her past that can slip out of her mind, and very rarely forgets things.

Overall Personality: Katharina is a woman of deviance -- She refuses to settle for what is expected of her, which is the reason why she's come to Paris in the first place. She is also a woman of great logic and, through her charming smile and seemingly girlish personality, knows a surprising amount about the world around her. She isn't afraid to show off this side of her and can sometimes be seen as a bit of a know-it-all. Nosiness is something else she is often accused of by those who haven't quite adjusted to her nature of always wanting to understand why and how things work the way they do. While she may seem rebellious and out of the ordinary in some areas, she is still a little old fashioned in others: She isn't quite used to the new ideas of casual sexuality, and sometimes finds herself critical of those women who take these new "norms" to the extreme and regards them as "loose". Thoughts on Love & Relationships: Never one for the classic love story, Kat isn't going to settle for just any guy. She has sworn to herself that whoever she eventually settles down with will be someone out of the ordinary. She's slightly guarded as to who she lets herself open up to romantically due to what happened with her boyfriend, but isn't necessarily cold about it. Open to the idea of being in a relationship once again and hopping to eventually settle down, but Kat isn't in any rush to do so. She'll often say that, "Good things taken time."

Relationship History: Kat was "going around" with a boy named James for two years. They'd been close childhood friends and grew up together and decided that pursuing a relationship was the next step. They were a very affectionate pair, but that came to an end when James left Boston for England to study there, which resulted in him joining in the fight for World War I. James was killed in action, which left Kat particularly devastated. James' death is another reason why Kat is in Paris -- to seek closure and to move on.

Mother's role in upbringing: Kat and her mother were very opposite in their personalities. The family, being very strictly religious, always pushed very high morals on Kay and her sister, which Fran only helped to encourage. Kat never liked her mother's idea of a happy life being one that served a husband and nothing more -- Yet another reason she left Boston, Kat's mother expected that her daughter would hurry to find a suitable husband just a short few months after the death of James.

Father's role in upbringing: A rather distant relationship, Henri was too busy with his work as a professor at Harvard to spend much time with his three children. He spent what free time he did have drinking and wandering around the city with his friends.
